About The Speaker
Shayne has been approved for compliance roles at board and senior management level by regulators in Mauritius, Luxembourg and the United Arab Emirates (Dubai, DIFC).
He spent some time in Dubai where he has been approved by the Dubai Financial Services Authority as Senior Manager – Compliance Officer/MLRO for an Investment Firm and responsible to head the compliance function. He then moved to a tier 1 Compliance consultancy firm in Dubai as Senior GRC Consultant and was approved by the regulator to act as outsourced Compliance Officer and MLRO for several companies (including DNFBPs) in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Shayne was also appointed and approved as Director on investment funds domiciled and regulated in Luxembourg (including a UCITS) where he was responsible to oversee legal and compliance matters.
Prior to moving to Dubai, Shayne was managing ADS Consulting Ltd and ADS Learning Ltd, leading Compliance consultancy and training institution in Mauritius respectively. Shayne has been leading strategic risk & compliance initiatives for listed companies, conglomerates, local and international companies for more than 10 years across different jurisdictions.

Course Objectives :
The training will allow participants to understand key concepts of the U.S FATCA and the OECD CRS, the local application, classification of entities and reporting requirements among others.
Course Outline:
Part 1 – Introduction to FATCA and CRS
Objective: This part will provide participants with an overview of what is the U.S FATCA and OECD CRS, differences between the two international tax information exchange regimes as well as applicable legal background.
Part 2 – Classification of Entities
Objective: This part will provide participants with crucial explanations of how to classify main types of entities under both FATCA and CRS, the main differences in classification for both international tax information exchange regimes.
Part 3 – Reportable Accounts
Objective: Under this part, participants will be provided with information to understand what are financial accounts, the different types of accounts, which types of accounts do not typically fall within the scope of the U.S FATCA and OECD CRS and what are reportable accounts.
Part 4 – Reporting
Objective: Participants will be exposed to the reporting process, what information need to be reported under both regimes and the consequences in case of non-compliance. To note that real life cases will be included within the training.
